This is what you will need to download files from this site, and from many others as well. Acrobat (pdf) files are "virtual paper" enabling people to convert Word docs or Excel spreadsheets, for instance, into files anyone with a PC can read and print ... but cannot modify. This free version is a reader only ... to MAKE pdf files from other files (e.g., spreadsheets), you need to buy the full version of the software.
Mozilla's Firefox:
A relatively new Web browser that is available free and getting rave reviews for its advanced features. It is also reputedly more secure than MS Internet Explorer.
An important note on computer "hygiene":
You need: 1) virus protection, 2) a firewall, and 3) spyware protection. (Try Grisoft, Symantec, McAfee, ZoneAlarm, Webroot.) I have placed links to the products I use to the left.
I use AVG (Grisoft) for the virus, spyware, firewall protection and Webroot's Window Washer to clean up my history and hard drive.
