Academic Experience
Dr. Fountaine has taught at several universities and colleges in California, including classes ranging from beginning financial and Excel courses to graduate-level accounting/finance offerings. He also possesses a California Teaching Credential and has classroom experience spanning all age groups, enriching his perspective of effective teaching techniques and his understanding of the full range of students' academic lives. He has chosen to focus on collegiate education because of its direct relationship to his previous career in finance and his personal interest in economics and investments.
Work and Consulting Experience
Dr. Fountaine has 25+ years' experience in public accounting and corporate finance, culminating with a position as controller for a multi-national publicly traded company based in Ventura County. In conjunction with his pursuit of an academic career, he currently provides financial consulting services in greater Los Angeles.
Biography
A native Southern Californian, Dr. Fountaine has a daughter studying at Caltech for for her Ph.D in Chemical Engineering. He is also an outdoors enthusiast and enjoys running, mountainbiking, hiking, etc. Dr. Fountaine has published articles in the area of finance and did his doctoral dissertation implementing Activity-Based Costing at a charter school.
